POWER CONSUMED BY THREE PHASE RESISTIVE LOAD BY 2 WATTMETER METHOD

Instructions

  • Make connections for all the meters.
    • Connect the blue node (MCB) to M and C of wattmeter-2. 3->14, 3->15
    • Connect yellow node to positive of voltmeter, V of wattmeter-2 and V of wattmeter-1. 2->4, 2->8, 2->12
    • Connect to red node to negative of voltmeter and positive of ammeter. 1->5, 1->6
    • Connect negative of ammeter to M and C of wattmeter-1. 7->10, 7->11
    • Connections for yellow, red and blue can be exchanged, also wattmeter-1 and wattmeter-2 can be exchanged.
  • Make connections of loads in STAR configuration.
    • 17->19, 19->21, 12->18, 9->16, 13->20
  • Click on 'CHECK' to check connections.
  • Switch on the MCB and adjust the voltage slider to vary voltage.
  • and click on 'ADD' to add observations to the table.
  • Make connections in Delta configuration, and click on 'CHECK'
    • 16->9, 18->12, 20->13, 21->18, 19->16, 17->20
  • Switch on the MCB and click on 'ADD' to add observations to the table.
  • Type the observations in calculation tab and click on 'Calculate Delta' and 'Calculate Star' to calculate readings for the experiment.
